University–business meeting: a valuable opportunity to connect with young talent.

At the University Campus of Cesena (University of Bologna), this event became a real opportunity to exchange ideas and connect with people bringing fresh perspectives, right in the heart of the Romagna ICT District. Once again this year, we were invited to meet students and present our curricular internship opportunities.

For a company strongly focused on research, internships are essential because they allow businesses like ours to explore new ideas and continuously evolve. Our participation in the event is part of the ongoing collaboration with the Campus within the professional degree programme in “Information Systems Technologies”, where we contribute to the “Big Data, Data Mining, Data Analytics” laboratory course, a path that culminates in an internship experience.

💡 During the event, we introduced a project students could actively work on, with a clear objective: making 3D configuration simpler, faster and… smarter.

This is an ongoing project aimed at leveraging technologies such as AI and Machine Learning, together with the OpenUSD standard (developed by Pixar), to automate the creation of product configurations while respecting geometric constraints.
In practice, the system will be able to generate 3D models automatically, following technical rules without requiring complex manual intervention. The result? A first AI-driven prototype and an integrable pipeline capable of building coherent and accurate scenes automatically for SolidRules, including Augmented Reality (AR) environments. Another step towards increasingly useful configurators for everyday work.
